MEME REVIEW MONDAY: Enter the Matrix and Celebrate Star Wars Day

Hello and Happy Meme Review Monday! I hope you all are doing well! This will be my last meme review for a little bit as I’ll be out of commission for most of May, so I hope you enjoy it! We have a lot of memes to cover so without further ado let’s get to it!

First up we have a meme from @thetimetostrikeislater on Tumblr.

The original poster captioned this meme “I keep forgetting to put Starfleet in front…” and I think it’s very funny. It leads to a very large misunderstanding as Starfleet officers are nothing like cops (which is definitely for the best). I also feel as though very different types of people are into Star Trek and cops and there’s a huge difference in personality between people who like police officers and people who like Starfleet officers.

Next up we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram.

This past week was May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, so of course I had to include this meme. It’s so well edited and a very silly pun. Both of those attributes are things I love in memes, and thus, this scores a 10/10 from me.

Next up we have a meme from @saganssorcery on Tumblr.

I think this is the second time I’ve included a meme like this in the Meme Review and I will always find it funny. Guinan’s hats are absolutely iconic and I really love that they look a lot like Febreze air fresheners.

Next up we have a meme from @shut-up-danny-kun on Tumblr.

I am a huge X-Men fan and also a huge fan of this meme format and thus I absolutely had to include this meme. I think this meme highlights a big issue I had with old Trek that new Trek has definitely strayed away from. In old Trek characters would often have one off flings and then we’d never hear from their fling again, nor would it ever be talked about. That would make it much harder for characters and relationships to develop within the show. I think, and I cannot believe I’m about to say this, I prefer the Troi/Worf pairing to a random one off with anyone else pairing.

Next up we have a meme from @the-delta-quadrant on Tumblr.

This image itself isn’t necessarily a Star Trek meme however the original poster captioned it “an unusual Vulcan name” and I thought that was very silly. There’s even the little apostrophe that is common in Vulcan names! I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if there was actually a Vulcan named T’Park and I just didn’t know about them.

Next up we have a meme from @televisualities on X.

This is yet another funnily edited pun meme, which you know by now I absolutely love. I think it’s very funny that of everyone O’Brien is the one on top of the Morn. I suppose it’s because he’s the most likely to say “top of the morning to you.” This meme is quite absurd and I am a big fan.

Next up we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram.

I have no clue what on earth could’ve inspired this meme but I love it. I think this is pretty much Worf for all of Season 3 of Picard. I really like the small editing details of this meme. For instance if you look closely you’ll see a Starfleet badge on Worf (even though it’s technically the wrong badge but I’ll let that go). I also like that he’s holding both a phaser and a normal gun, I suppose he’ll just decide which one to use on the fly.

Ok that’s all I have for you all this week! I hope you enjoyed!
