PREVIEW: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Episode 209
AUGUST 1, 2023 – Although one might want to argue about an episode like Star Trek: The Original Series’ season three entry, “The Way to Eden,” this week’s episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds marks the first musical episode in the franchise.
In “Subspace Rhapsody,” an accident with an experimental quantum probability field causes everyone on the U.S.S. Enterprise to break uncontrollably into song, but the real danger is that the field is expanding and beginning to impact other ships — allies and enemies alike.
The episode was written by Dana Horgan and Bill Wolkoff and was directed by Dermott Downs. And don’t forget the music and lyrics by Kay Hanley and Tom Polce.
