Sir Patrick Stewart to receive Distinguished Artisan Award from the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild
DECEMBER 5, 2019 - Sir Patrick Stewart is to receive a special award at the 7th Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards. The Star Trek: Picard actor is being honored with the Distinguished Artisan Award at the ceremony, which takes place in Los Angeles next January. Presenting the award will be Brent Spiner, Stewart’s Next Generation and Picard co-star; James MacKinnon, Emmy Award-winning makeup and prosthetic artist from Discovery; and the legendary Academy Award-winning makeup artist Michael Westmore.
Julie Socash, President of the guild, said of the award, “Sir Patrick Stewart is a legendary actor whose myriad of characters live in our hearts forever. He is so deserving of this special recognition spotlighting his award-winning stage and screen performances, and we celebrate his great collaboration with our talented artists.”
The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards honors outstanding achievements of make-up artists and hair stylists in film, television, commercials and live theater. The black-tie awards gala will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at The Novo in Los Angeles.
