It goes without saying that now is a really great time to be staying home. So, in between your online Christmas shopping and incessant feeling of impending doom, why not take the time to tune in to a virtual Star Trek event?

Star Trek and Optimistic SFF - Friday, December 4th

First up, Sarah Gulde, one of the hosts of our sister podcast Women at Warp, will be moderating a panel on Star Trek and optimistic science fiction and fantasy. The panel takes place this Friday, December 4th, at 12pm ET and features authors Martha Wells, Dana Pellebon and Benjamin Kinney, along with special guest Anthony Rapp from Star Trek: Discovery.

Shore Leave 41.5 Virtual Celebration: Voyager’s 25th Anniversary - Saturday, December 5th

Looking ahead to Saturday, Shore Leave con is continuing its Virtual Experience with a panel looking back at the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager. The panel takes place on Saturday, December 5th at 1pm ET, and you can find out more and register at shore-leave.com/virtual.

GalaxyCon Live: Captains of Star Trek - Saturday, December 5th

Next, it’s another GalaxyCon Live event, this time featuring Star Trek captains Kate Mulgrew and William Shatner. The Q&A panel takes place on Saturday, December 5th at 2pm ET.

And if that’s not enough Star Trek content for you, later that afternoon there’s another panel, this time with the guest stars of Star Trek: Bobby Clark (the Gorn captain), Sean Kenney (Christopher Pike from “The Menagerie”), Nathan Jung (aka Genghis Khan), Mariette Hartley (aka Zarabeth), and France Nuyen (Elaan of Troyius). That panel is also on Saturday, December 5th, but at 6pm ET.

Gaaays in Spaaace: The Virtual Wrath of Vegas 2020 - Friday, December 4th - Sunday, December 6th

Gaaays in Spaaace are hosting a big virtual party this weekend, called Gaaays in Spaaace: The Virtual Wrath of Vegas 2020. They’ve got three days packed with virtual events, including celebrity panels, games and performances. Head to facebook.com/gaaaysinspaaace for details.

Holocon 3 by Lambda Quadrant - Saturday, December 5th - Sunday, December 6th

Also this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, the Lambda Quadrant are hosting Holocon 3, with two days of events, including an Orion makeup tutorial and a Q&A with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Cirroc Lofton. You can find out more about that event at facebook.com/lambdaquadrant.

Kate Mulgrew Eugene O’Neill Award Tribute - Monday, December 7th

Looking ahead to next week now, and on Monday, December 7th at 7pm ET, the Irish American Writers & Artists are presenting Star Trek: Voyager actor Kate Mulgrew with the prestigious Eugene O’Neill Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts.

There are ticket options from $25 and up; the top-tier $150 VIP cocktail hour ticket grants you access to the early party, which will feature guests Robert Picardo and John de Lancie, among others. For more information and how to buy tickets, head to iamwa.org.

John de Lancie Q&A with Star Trek: The Cruise - Tuesday, December 8th

John de Lancie will join the director of Star Trek: The Cruise for a Q&A session at 8pm ET. You can find out more about that on their Facebook page, at facebook.com/startrekthecruise.

Larry Nemecek’s Portal 47 Annual Open House - Wednesday, December 9th

Next up, a rescheduled event from the end of October. Next Wednesday, December 9th at 7pm PT, Dr. Trek himself, Larry Nemecek, is hosting his annual Portal 47 Open House.
