Star Trek events: Thursday, September 3rd - Wednesday, September 9th, 2020
It’s coming up to Labor Day weekend here in the United States and while the spread of COVID-19 continues to make sure it’s not safe to do our usual beach-and-barbecue, there are still plenty of virtual Star Trek events that will be sure to keep you occupied.
DragonCon - Thursday, September 3rd to Monday, September 7th
DragonCon has gone virtual this year! Starting today and running through Monday, DragonCon is putting on a packed weekend full of virtual events, with plenty of Star Trek ones in there as well. Look out for the Star Trek: Discovery cast on Saturday afternoon and a LIVE Voyager 25th anniversary panel on Sunday.
There is a huge amount of stuff going on this weekend, so for more information, head to dragoncon.org. That’s where you’ll find details on how to stream the panels you want to see, and how to buy guest autographs, as well.
Gaaays In Spaaace: Virtual Science Night - Saturday, September 5th
Then, on Saturday, September 5th at 8pm ET, two Star Trek science advisers are joining Gaaays in Spaaace for their Virtual Science Night. Tune in for Dr. Erin Macdonald and Mohamed Noor, answering your questions on the livestream.
Tickets for the Virtual Science Night are on a “pay what you can basis” for a $1 minimum purchase price. To find out more, head to facebook.com/gaaaysinspaaace - with a whopping 6 As in that name, mind.
Shout! Factory Star Trek Day - Tuesday, September 8th
Looking ahead to next Tuesday now, and Shout! Factory, the distributor behind many of your favorite Star Trek documentaries, is hosting a Star Trek marathon across their streaming services. Starting at 9am ET, they’ll be showing back-to-back Trek documentaries - six of them in total! Tune in for The Captains, The Captains Close Up five-episode miniseries, Chaos on the Bridge and William Shatner’s Get a Life! They’re also showing the Deep Space Nine documentary What We Left Behind and Backlot: San Diego Comic-Con 2019 looking back at the Deep Space Nine panel from that year.
The marathon is being streamed on all Shout! Factory platforms: that’s shoutfactorytv.com, Shout! Factory apps on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV and Android, as well as on Twitch, Samsung TV Plus, Comcast Xfinity, Xumo, Vizio, Redbox, IMDb TV and STIRR.
Sid City Social Club - Friday, September 5th
And finally, one that will get added to the “regular stuff” section going forward…
Sid City Social Club - hosted by Alexander Siddig’s official fan website - is still running twice-weekly, and the next meeting is this Friday, September 5th, at 3pm ET. They chat and hang out and occasionally do things like read really awesome fan fic.

#TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and
#StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.
