Star Trek: Short Treks coming to Blu-ray and DVD
Star Trek: Short Treks are coming to Blu-ray and DVD. A piece from StarTrek.com on Sunday announced the upcoming release, which is due on June 2nd.
The collection includes all but one of the Short Treks from the first two seasons - notably excluding the most recent episode, “Children of Mars”. It’s not clear why “Children of Mars” was excluded from the collection, although it’s worth noting that it was billed as a prequel to Star Trek: Picard, and could logically be bundled with that series, when it’s eventually released on home video.
In addition to the nine Short Treks episodes, there are also some special features you can expect to see. Among others, there’s an interview with Picard showrunner Michael Chabon and Discovery director Olatunde Osunsanmi about the episode “Calypso”, and an interview with prop master Mario Moreira about bringing tribbles back to the franchise for “The Trouble with Edward”.
The Blu-ray Star Trek: Short Treks collection is available for pre-order now on Amazon for $25.99, and of course, if you can’t wait, you can watch all of them on CBS All Access now.
