The Star Trek Universe Beams Into New York Comic Con
The Star Trek Universe is heading to New York Comic Con.
StarTrek.com announced yesterday that Star Trek will be hosting a mega-panel (like the one at San Diego Comic Con), as well as a booth on the convention floor.
From the announcement: “Over 50 years ago, the world was first introduced to what would quickly become a cultural phenomenon for the ages. ‘Star Trek’ broke barriers then and continues to do so now, inspiring people of all generations and walks of life with its celebration of cultural diversity, scientific exploration and the pursuit of uncharted frontiers. Today, the Star Trek universe continues to thrive, exploring all new missions for Starfleet. Join ‘Star Trek’ Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman for back-to-back panels filled with the latest ‘Star Trek’ news.”
The main Star Trek panel runs from 1 to 2:30pm on Saturday, October 5th. First up, it’s the cast and producers from Discovery, including Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Mary Wiseman, Anthony Rapp, and Wilson Cruz, as well as newcomer David Ajala. They’ll be talking about the end of season two and what season three might hold in store.
Then, closing out the panel will be Sir Patrick Stewart and the cast and producers of Star Trek: Picard, including Alison Pill (no relation), Isa Briones, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, and Harry Treadaway. They’ll be discussing what StarTrek.com describes as “the first season” of Picard, which as I mentioned on Tuesday, has just finished filming.
For convention-goers who can’t make it to the panel, there will also be an opportunity to visit the U.S.S. Discovery Transporter Experience on the show floor, where they will once again be giving out limited numbers of con-exclusive pins. Star Trek: Picard merchandise will also be available.
New York Comic Con is on at the Javits Center in New York City, Thursday, October 3rd, through Sunday, October 6th.
