Sir Patrick Stewart, Sonequa Martin-Green and Alex Kurtzman to Appear On Stage for Star Trek at San Diego Comic Con
Yesterday I brought you the story that Star Trek had announced the “Star Trek Universe” - the moniker for the massive presence it will be bringing to San Diego Comic Con. Today, I’ve got more details on that blockbuster Hall H panel, and maybe a taste of what to expect.
Deadline filled in the gaps from CBS All Access’s press release from Monday. The Hall H panel will actually be back-to-back panels, taking up an hour and a half slot on Saturday lunchtime. First up: Discovery, and Tig Notaro, Discovery’s Jett Reno, will be moderating a panel of Sonequa Martin-Green and producers Michelle Paradise, Heather Kadin and of course, Alex Kurtzman.
Next up, it’s a first look at the new animated series Lower Decks, with series Executive Producer Mike McMahan. According to Deadline, he’s expecting a special guest or two, as well.
Finally, the big one: it’s Star Trek: Picard. Quoting the Deadline piece, “Star Trek kingpin Kurtzman will be back onstage with knight of the realm Patrick Stewart for the first SDCC Star Trek: Picard panel. No word yet if there will be a preview of the 10-episode series [...] but you never know.” Kurtzman and Stewart are due to be joined by co-stars Alison Pill (no relation), Michelle Hurd, and Santiago Cabrera, among others, plus newly-named showrunner Michael Chabon.
San Diego Comic Con takes place July 18th through 21st. I’ll be there repping Daily Star Trek News and the Roddenberry Podcast Network, and I’ll have some other hosts from the network with me too! I’ll let you know more details as and when.
