CBS All Access Announces “Star Trek Universe” at San Diego Comic Con
CBS is planning a bigger presence than ever before at one of the world’s premiere comic conventions.
In a press release yesterday, CBS announced their plans for San Diego Comic Con - including exclusive show floor experiences and merchandise, as well as a main stage panel in the famed “Hall H”.
San Diego Comic Con takes place Thursday, July 18th through Sunday, July 21st. For the whole weekend, CBS is hosting a Star Trek Universe booth in the exhibit hall, where fans can take part in an immersive transporter experience, as well as meet and greets. Additionally, at the Michael J Wolf Fine Arts studio on nearby Fifth Street, fans can visit the special exhibit “Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty”. Quoting the press release, “‘Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty’ is a special exhibition showcasing original props, costumes and other artifacts tracing Picard’s life and Starfleet career. Items on display include his cherished Ressikan flute, the legendary Picard family album, his Starfleet uniforms, models of ships Picard captained, and all that remains of the ‘Borg Queen.’ The gallery also features exclusive first looks at costumes and other items featured in the upcoming CBS All Access series STAR TREK: PICARD.”
On Saturday in Hall H is when the “Enter the Star Trek Universe” panel takes place. Quoting the release again: “CBS All Access invites you to join the cast and producers of its hit series STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and be the first to hear about two new upcoming additions to the Star Trek universe: the highly anticipated new series STAR TREK: PICARD, starring Sir Patrick Stewart, and the animated series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS.”
Needless to say: expect a LOT of news coming out of that weekend.
Speaking of San Diego Comic Con, if you do happen to be in the area - I’ll be attending too, and I’ll let you know more details when I have them.
