Ethan Peck Cast on Penny Dreadful Spinoff “City of Angels”
While we’re all getting excited at the prospect of a Spock and Number One “Short Trek”, if you’re hoping that this is a sign that a Pike-Spock-Number One series could be on its way, you might not want to hold your breath.
TVLine brought us the story last week that Discovery’s Spock, Ethan Peck, has been cast in a main role in the new Penny Dreadful spinoff, “City of Angels”. Quoting TVLine: “Set in 1938 Los Angeles, the Penny Dreadful ‘sequel’ centers on Det. Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto), who becomes embroiled in an epic story following a grisly murder that shocks the city. The drama will soon find Tiago and his family ‘grappling with powerful forces that threaten to tear them apart’.”
Ethan Peck will be playing the role of Herman Ackermann, second-in-command at the German American Bund, whose personality creates tension within the main cast of characters. Among the other cast members announced were Adam Rodriguez, most recently from Criminal Minds, and Dominic Sherwood from Shadowhunters.
Production is expected to begin on Penny Dreadful: City of Angels later this year, which doesn’t leave much time for Peck to get his ears on again.
