Want a Colorado whiskey with a Star Trek: Picard cameo? The waitlist is open
APRIL 21, 2022 - When you see that certain bottle, you know what to expect: Chateau Picard or Saurian brandy. Star Trek: Picard fans are now clamoring for a whiskey, not from Risa but from Colorado.
That certain bottle, in this case, was recently featured in the Picard episode, “Two of One,” and will be available for purchase later this year, according to the Denver Post. The bottle is visible in a scene featuring Raffi Musiker at a bar and is on screen long enough to be identifiable.
NoCo Distillery, of Fort Collins, Colorado, was able to take advantage of the product placement opportunity with its Bourbon II, which is yet to complete production, but is already in high demand.
“It has to do with the amount of time that it stayed on the scene,” co-owner and master blender Sebastien Gavillet said. “Also many of the people who want the bottle used to live in Fort Collins and no longer live there. They got excited about it and wanted to get relatives to go buy it.”
You’ll have to rely on some luck, though, if you want to purchase a bottle. There will only be 500 bottles of Bourbon II available, and a lottery will decide who gets to spend their $100 to secure one. The batch should be ready to go by the end of the year.
