MEME REVIEW MONDAY: Vulcan Blood, Daylight Savings Time, and Pi Day

Hello! Welcome back to another Meme Review Monday! I know you’ve all been waiting all week for this so let’s jump right in.

First up we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram.

I love a good Harry Kim meme. In fact, I was just talking about how much I love Harry Kim memes in last week’s Weekly Roundup (which you can watch here). Harry Kim memes are a classic and you really cannot go wrong with them.

Next up we have another meme from @robintreks on Instagram.

Last Thursday was Pi day and to celebrate, robinTreks posted this image. For those who don’t know, Pi day happens every year on March 14th (3/14) to celebrate the magic and wonder of the number pi. It’s a goofy day and it always results in new pi or pie themed memes being released. Such as this one. Pi Day, which was the day this was posted, is quite a good day for a pie.

Next up we have a meme from @startrekmemes_ on instagram

This is how I feel whenever I talk to the internet about Discovery. I moderate the comments and replies for the DSTN socials and every time we post about Discovery there is someone in the comments hating on the show. I don’t mind that people don’t like DISCO, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however sometimes I can get a bit annoyed at the hate. I think from now on I will just start sending Discovery haters this meme.

Next up we have a meme from @godshideouscreation on Tumblr

This meme isn’t really Star Trek-related other than the fact Data is laughing, however Daylight Savings did just happen and I thought it would be fitting to include a meme about it. Daylight Savings is a pretty weird concept and if you word it like this it really does seem quite absurd. As someone who lives in a place with Daylight Savings, it doesn’t feel all that weird to me, however after reading this meme I have realized it really is quite weird.

Next up we have a meme from @ryantriddle on X

This meme made me giggle. It also made me wonder about the semiotics of the color green on Vulcan. On earth red, while it does have many meanings depending on where you are in the world, will always also mean blood and therefore imply violence. This is because everyone has red blood. Does that therefore mean that on Vulcan, green is their color for anger and violence? That would be interesting.

Next up we have a meme from @davidmcgeoch9 on X.

This is so absurd and I love it. I wonder who made this and what inspired them to do so. I would love to know the events preceding the making and hanging of this sign. I’m also not sure what paper redshirt would do to protect me. That being said I would still probably take one just in case.

Next up we have a meme from @holodeck4 on Instagram.

I both hate and love this meme at the same time. I cannot reconcile my feelings for it. It makes me very uncomfortable but it's also quite silly. I’m not very sure, but I do definitely enjoy it at least a bit, as much as I hate the concept of seven of eleven.

Ok that’s all I have for you guys this week! See you next week!
