NOVEMBER 20, 2020 - So it turns out Star Trek: Discovery’s newest guest star is - wait for it - a bit of a nerd. Welcome to the family, Noah Averbach-Katz!

Averbach-Katz plays Ryn in the latest Discovery episode, “Scavengers”. No spoilers here, except to say that Ryn is an Andorian who plays a pivotal role. You might also recognize Averbach-Katz’s name from last week’s story about a group of Discovery actors playing a D&D campaign together; he’s their DM, and he’s also Tilly actor Mary Wiseman’s husband.

Yesterday, Noah AK (as he’s known on Twitter) tweeted a video compilation of pictures from his Star Trek fandom, set to “Faith of the Heart”. He captioned the video, “I couldn't think of better way for a life long Trekkie like myself to celebrate being on #StarTrek than to make a compilation video of some of my most embarrassing/cherished photos. I hope you love Ryn as much as I do. LLAP #StarTrekDiscovery”

The one-minute video features snapshots from conventions past, including Klingons, tribbles, and even a photo shoot with Sir Patrick Stewart, with Averbach-Katz posing in a “Picard/Riker 2012” t-shirt. The latter half of the video features a number of shots of him in Ryn makeup, posing with members of the Discovery cast.
