Gates McFadden to Join Star Trek Online For An Upcoming Event
JANUARY 26, 2023 - Star Trek Online is more than popular. It has become an engaging platform that lets fans from all over, become a Starfleet officer and feel what it’s like to live in the world created by Gene Roddenberry.
But its influence has reached beyond the monitors that it’s played on. The USS Enterprise, NCC 1701–F was first launched in this game and has now become part of Trek’s official cannon, promising that it will be seen live on-screen in season three of Star Trek: Picard.
Some of the real joys in the game are from Trek actors reprising their roles (or versions of them), lending their voice to the characters. We have seen Will Wheaton become Emperor Wesley Crusher in the Refractions storyline, but now, his mom is joining the foray. It was announced that Gates McFadden will join the game, but will she be a proud mother or a horrified one at what her son’s become?
The official announcement on Twitter is as follows:
The doctor is in. @gates_mcfadden joins the cast of Star Trek Online, sharing her first Trek scenes with @wilw in 32 years! Joined by @ChaseMasterson, can you stop the Emperor? Star Trek Online: Refractions is live now on PC!https://t.co/mXMcaU2law pic.twitter.com/oXq7zZq9is
